This drawing was done while I was an undergraduate. I had a lot of fun trying out digital drawing for the first time. It took a while to get used to, but I ended up really enjoying it, and absolutely love how this image turned out. I used my dog, Nibs, as the focal point. His brown fur really helps draw the eye in against the vibrant background. I really wanted my drawing to be textured. I used very textured brushes in Procreate, so that the image feels like it was actually painted. I have gotten a comment that it feels like a children's book illustration. I also used a lot of cooler tones to make Nibs pop out from the background.
